Despite their highly-anticipated new album 'The Center Won’t Hold' due to be released next month, Sleater-Kinney's drummer Janet Weiss has announced that she is leaving the band.
Explaining her decision on Twitter, the drummer of 24 years in the group said, “After intense deliberation and with heavy sadness, I have decided to leave Sleater-Kinney. The band is heading in a new direction and it is time for me to move on.”
'The Center Won't Hold' is expected to be released on the 16th August through Mom & Pop Records, and you can see Weiss' full statement below.
