Soo Casa - 'Oskee'

7/10

Over these last few years, fast-rising rapper Soo Casa has managed to established himself as one of the more innovative names on today's scene. Combining a smooth and immersive flow with some brilliantly adventurous productions with everything he does has allowed him to truly stand out from the crowd and cement himself as a true innovator doing the rounds right now. And after recently returning with his stunning comeback single 'Danger Jones' earlier this year, he is back once again with his pulsing new EP 'Oskee', a collection brimming with power and finesse throughout.

Much like what his recent run of releases has showcased, 'Oskee' looks to build upon his dynamic foundations with some brilliantly progressive anthems here. Teaming up with Canadian artists Jerelle and ParkfromCC for the EP, this four-track offering marks another shining moment in his ever-evolving repertoire to date. Tracks like 'Lift Em' and 'Hostages' not only add that harsh and driven energy he has cultivated over the years, but also find him in one of his most imaginative guises to date as he makes light work of these bold and rigorous grooves at every turn.

After taking a break from releasing new music last year, it is clear that 'Oskee' was a true labour of love for him. Creating these wonderfully rich and enigmatic aesthetics to suit his electrifying flair from beginning to end, Soo Casa continues to shine as one of the more exciting names on the rise today.
