Supercaan - 'A Tiger Walks In The Streets'

8/10

When they first broke through with their stunning self-titled debut LP in 2019, Birmingham's Supercaan were greeted as one of the more anthemic names to arrive that year. Taking cues from bold and uplifting indie-rock contemporaries like The National and The War On Drugs, the band quickly found a home amongst the UK's fast-rising outfits, ready to bring something new and inventive to the scene. And with a flurry of new additions to their sprawling catalogue in the years since, they now return with their eagerly-awaited sophomore album 'A Tiger Walks In The Streets', a record that continues those effervescent ideals once again.

Much like what the single releases from this new collection have shown us, 'A Tiger Walks In The Streets' makes for a brilliantly euphoric listen. Honing their distinctive direction to incorporate broader and more textured aesthetics this time around, their newest endeavour has this incredibly immersive quality to it. With each track its own little journey throughout their diverse nature in recent years, they look to put everything they have into this new release, delivering some of their most captivating cuts to date.

Given the strong response to the individual tracks shared prior to this full-length, there was never any doubt at the sheer quality and ambition of 'A Tiger Walks In The Streets'. Brimming with this rich and vibrant flow at every turn, Supercaan continue to shine as one of the more passionate names doing the rounds right now.
