Throughout the decades of her illustrious career, Canadian singer-songwriter Tara MacLean has always looked to adopt a more lovelorn pursuit than many of her peers. Combining soft and subtle compositions with her soaring vocal performance has left her with countless highly-praised releases over the years, all building upon her dynamic direction to date. And with a new studio album currently in the works, she is looking to bridge the gap between her next material with her latest EP 'Live In My Hometown', a collection that highlights some of her more emotive efforts so far.
Recorded at an intimate performance on Prince Edward Island, 'Live In My Hometown' looks to showcase the more vibrant and emotive additions within her sprawling back catalogue. Despite being just five tracks in length, MacLean manages to pack in plenty of raw and evocative emotion within these stripped-back croons. Using little more than an acoustic guitar and her own tender vocals to display these renditions, her newest EP finds her in beautifully refined spirits as she delivers brilliantly engaging serenades to some of her most beloved fans.
Her tenure to date has certainly been filled with plenty of refreshing swoons, but hearing these versions in a live setting really brings them to life. Oozing with this warm and passionate texture throughout, 'Live In My Hometown' makes for the perfect addition to the repertoire of one of Canada's more alluring artists today.
