Tom Williams - 'All Change'

7/10

Having spent his career under the moniker of Tom Williams And The Boat, the frontman has now dropped his familiar suffix and declared himself a fully-fledged solo artist with his latest album 'All Change'. Yet while under his own name he has built himself a reputation for quaint indie anthems, this new release sees him adopt a more energetic direction that shows their is still plenty of life in the main-man yet.

Switching on to 'All Change', you are suddenly hit with all the hallmarks that Tom Williams is known to bring to his music. A mix of upbeat rhythms and competent songwriting unravels this fairly easy-to-digest record that aims to bring nothing but joy and excitement to your ears as it plays. The album has this very familiar charm to it, like wrapping yourself up on a cold night. Williams' presence within each track commands your attention throughout as he looks to serenade you on every verse.

While there is plenty to take away from this release, I think it is his incredible charisma that shines the most of this record. 'All Change' may not have much in regards of stand out material, but it is still a solid release that displays the very best in what Tom Williams is all about.
