Over these last few years, US duo Ubiquity Machine have quickly established themselves as one of the more inventive names on the rise. Turning out a breadth of rich and alluring releases, including their much-loved debut album 'Where We Are And Where We Want To Be' back in March, they have barely stopped delivering fresh and innovative delights for us to sink our teeth into. And after another heady run of gems lately, they are back once again with their shimmering new EP 'I Think It's Funny', a collection that beams with explorative energy throughout.
Much like their tenure to date, 'I Think It's Funny' looks to adopt this wildly diverse approach to its production and composition. Despite just three tracks in length, the pair take us on this brilliantly varied journey that takes its cues from funk, indie-pop, soul and so much more. Cultivating yet another batch of distinctive offerings to add to their ever-evolving repertoire, Ubiquity Machine find themselves in fine form here as they continue to push the boundaries of their aesthetic with everything they do.
They have certainly been extremely busy these last few months, but 'I Think It's Funny' still makes for a wonderfully unique and enjoyable listening experience from start to finish. Channeling some brilliantly infectious grooves as it plays, they continue to surprise across this dynamic new EP.
