UNIVERSITY - 'TITLE TRACK'

8/10

Earlier this year, UK-based outfit UNIVERSITY introduced themselves with their stunning debut single 'Notre Dame Made Out Of Flesh', a track so unbridled in its raw power, it instantly cemented them as one of the more exciting names emerging so far this year. And with the buzz still climbing for the four-piece, they now look to fully establish their place on the scene with their explosive debut EP 'TITLE TRACK', a release brimming with uncompromising punk energy throughout.

It is very rare that we get to hear a band come firing out of the gates with so much grizzled gusto these days. While some modern day punk outfits tend to explore a more polished direction to keep them in kin with the contemporary sound of the mainstream, UNIVERSITY feel like a group with so much tenacity, the microphones they recorded it with simply buckle under the wait of their noise. And while they still manage to throw in the odd brighter moment, 'TITLE TRACK' stands as a refreshing addition to today's rock-focused landscape.

Despite its rather brisk running time, 'TITLE TRACK' packs plenty of punches, and could be the release that brings UNIVERSITY out of the shadows and into the wider world, where they belong.
