The Vaccines - 'Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations'

7/10

Having been one of the more electrifying indie-rock bands to have emerged in recent years, The Vaccines have already had their fair-share of difficult times recently. 2016 saw the departure of founding member and drummer Pete Robertson, and as of last year, guitarist Freddie Cowan announced he was also leaving the band. But despite not replacing him from the line-up, they have chosen to continue as a four-piece to deliver their eagerly-awaited sixth studio album 'Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations', a record brimming with more of that guitar-pop power they are known for.

While the sound and style of The Vaccines has been largely unchanged since their earliest beginnings, 'Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations' does its best to find new and interesting ideas in which to explore. Keeping the vibes and energy as high as possible throughout its ten-track runtime, this new full-length shows that they are still very much the same innovative band they always were, even if this new release comes at a time of upheaval for the group.

Fans of The Vaccines will no doubt relish this new outing. Keeping the direction of the record very much in line to their more popular offerings to date, 'Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations' shows that they are still very much on top of their creative game right now.
