Villagers unveil new single 'You Lucky One'

With their eagerly-awaited new album landing in the coming months, Villagers have now dropped the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.

The new single 'You Lucky One' comes accompanied by a stunning new video, directed by the band's Conor O’Brien, and follows on from the previously shared title-track in previewing their sixth LP 'That Golden Time', which is out on the 10th May via Domino.

Speaking about the new offering, O’Brien said, “The types of physical currency change throughout time, but the essential power relationships and bartering principles persevere throughout the cosmetic changes.”

While adding about the new visuals, “The video, much like the song, is a complicated, messy affair full of hellish landscapes and internal demons. It exists in a world conquered by irrational beings and emotional, selfish creatures. Corruption of the soul and disingenuous motivation are the order of the day, so I thought it best to serve with a side plate of the macabre and sinister.”
