Over the past decade, The Wytches have stood as one of the more interesting names doing the rounds. With this wonderfully distinctive sound that blends a heady mix of psych-rock, grunge, post-punk and so much more between the lines, they have been working hard on the fringes of the scene thanks to the rousing response to their breakthrough debut LP 'Annabel Dream Reader'. But now with a new home on Alcopop! Records, they look to take on a more grizzled direction as they return with their pulsing new studio album 'Our Guest Can't Be Named', a record brimming with unbridled power.

Ever since they first emerged, The Wytches' sound has always been an unconventional yet mesmerising one, something that they have upheld throughout this new material as well. With a strong mixture of raw and driven guitar anthems and more subdued offerings, 'Our Guest Can't Be Named' makes for a wondrous return for a band that have always had strong ideas about their aesthetic. It may not come with the same initial impact as their early work, but still makes for a wildly enjoyable listen from start to finish.

These last few years may have looked a little uncertain for the four-piece, with another new label onboarding them and the departure of original drummer Gianni Honey in 2019, but 'Our Guest Can't Be Named' shows that they are still moving in a positive direction and ready to deliver something memorable once again.
