After a string of highly-praised efforts throughout last year, LA-based artist Reggie Saunders is now back for 2024 with his woozy new offering 'They Don't Know'.
Channelling more of that smooth and alluring neo-soul aesthetic he is known for, 'They Don't Know' makes for a rousing return for the emerging vocalist. With his warm and inviting voice layered across a sweeping production from start to finish, he returns with one of his most heartfelt tracks to date here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
My voice.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Marvin Gaye, Steve Wonder, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin.
What was the first album you remember owning?
The Jackson 5.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Superstition / Steve Wonder
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
No. Music comes to me as if it were sent by multi talented extraterrestrials. My only job is to allow my mind, body, and soul to be clear enough to receive it.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Jon Batiste, The Roots, Silk Sonic, Janelle Monàe.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Jon Batiste, The Roots, Lenny Kravitz.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
The creativity aspect, and the connection to the people.
And what is the most frustrating part?
To have all of this beautiful music in me, and not be able to give it to the masses. And the devaluation of an artist’s work is due to unfair payment structures on streaming platforms.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Stevie Wonder held my hands and told me that “If my singing is as strong as my personality, then I will be a big success in the music business.”
