After seeing classic shoegaze bands like Slowdive and The Jesus And Mary Chain make a big return earlier this year, we knew it was only a matter of time before a new generation of bands would emerge to take the baton on, and it looks like Glasgow's The Ninth Wave could be those next relay runners.
Formed over a love of 80s post-punk and new wave, the group have spent the last few years building up their reputation in the Scottish capital and are now considered one of the most exciting new names to emerge from the city.
Recently signed to Distiller Records, their new single 'Reformation' manages to combine those dark and brooding influences, and give them a contemporary twist, resulting in a release that is both hard hitting and euphoric in equal measure.
The single is taken from a forthcoming EP from the band, expecting out sometime later this year, and you can check out the new video for 'Reformation' in the player below.
