With acts like First Aid Kit, Ward Thomas and The Shires currently troubling the US names for global dominance in the country music scene, it looks like the next big name in the genre could be coming from the UK, as British-born singer-songwriter Jade Bird is now proving.
Since the release of her debut EP 'Something American' back in July, Bird has slowly begun to move out of the country music bubble and gather support from the mainstream music scene at large. With already a whole host of tastemakers beating her name around, she has recently been selected as one of the artists competing for the BBC's Sound Of 2018 award.
Her latest single 'Cathedral', with its soaring vocal performance and anthemic production, has already earned her a primetime set on US TV talk show The Late Show, and has recently been rerecorded as an acoustic track to really highlight her stunning voice.
