After first catching the music bug at the age of 4, Swedish newcomer Ellen Krauss has been quick to establish herself within her home country's music scene. After being awarded Rookie Artist of the Year at the Denniz Pop Awards before even releasing an official single, the now 18-year-old has her eyes set on global dominance as she unveils the video for her newest track 'On The Bus'.
As her debut release through her new label BMG Recorded Music, 'On The Bus' makes for an incredibly captivating listen. With its traditional Scandinavian pop aesthetic blended with a more groove-laden approach to production, this acoustic-led cut aims to highlight the blissful and euphoric direction she has adopted in recent times, making for a fresh and vibrant new offering.
Speaking about bringing the song - which is an ode to unrequited teenage love - to life visually, director Gemma Yin says, "We wanted to make a vibrant video for 'On the Bus' to compliment Ellen's colourful style and personality. She had seen a summery collage animation that she loved so we ran with the idea of shooting her in still photography sequences before deconstructing the imagery to build our own unique world of surreal collage. We meander between recognisable elements from the story of the lyrics and random things from Ellen's imagination in this performance video - it is like a hyper-charged daydream!"
Ellen adds, "The video for 'On The Bus' really captures the feeling of wanting to escape an unrequited love. Perhaps being drunk or daydreaming on the bus. I love the trippy and surreal feeling that Gemma and her team have produced. Working with them was such a great experience."
Ellen Krauss is expected to release her debut EP in the near future, and you can check out the new video for 'On The Bus' in the player below.
