BBC Music Awards nominees announced

The BBC have announced their picks for their first music awards, due to be handed out later this week.

David Bowie (pictured), Royal Blood, Sam Smith and Jungle are amongst those nominated for Best British Artist of the year, while Prince, Lorde, Dolly Parton and Pharrell make up some of the names in the Best International Artist category.

The awards are set to take place on Thursday 11th December and London's Earl Court, hosted by Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton, and will also be broadcast live across BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2.

Live performances from the likes of Calvin Harris, Clean Bandit, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, George Ezra and many more will also take place.
