First Aid Kit - 'Tender Offerings'

7/10

Having returned earlier this year to release 'Ruins', their most commercially successful album to date, Swedish folk-pop duo First Aid Kit have looked to continue the momentum of their latest full-length with the unveiling of 'Tender Offerings', a quick four-track EP that offers up a succession to their wistful and harmonious sound.

'Tender Offerings' represents a collection of singles that were recorded during their last album's sessions, but just couldn't be pushed aside by the band, and from the start it is clear why. Opening up with the wonderfully bliss 'I've Wanted You', this new release aims to be companion record to their last album, channeling the same calming energy of their previous material and adding yet more beautifully composed singles onto the back of their already glittering back catalogue.

It may not be anything we haven't heard from them before, but does an incredible job at giving us just a brief snippet of where they are creatively. Rather than just another collection of b-sides, 'Tender Offerings' is a solid piece of work that highlights the uplifting energy that these two are capable of.
