What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Bass guitar. I started in 4th grade, initially gravitating toward drums, but I fell into bass in 7th grade and have been playing ever since. I love bass and I cannot lie.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

As a kid, pop was what surrounded me, but I spent a lot of time in the hardcore and metal community—that became my world for a long time. Looking at where I am now, my projects feel like they’re coming full circle, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that continues.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Mortal Kombat Soundtrack—my introduction to drum & bass before I even knew what it was.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

I wish I could have been the third member of Ratatat.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I like to be a bit secluded—no distractions. Lately, I’ve been leaning into more ritualistic routines, setting the vibe in the studio and journaling before diving in. It helps separate the creative space from everything else.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Chiiild, Djo, Elis Paprika, Bives, Abby Sage.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

I would be sure to put together a fun opening set for Jungle.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

I've always felt that the most rewarding part of being a musician is the human-to-human connection that comes from touring and live shows—that energy exchange is something special, and I want to deepen that with this project. But lately, making music has been less of a choice and more of a necessity—something I have to do to process life. If I didn’t have this outlet, I don’t know... it’s just non-negotiable. I love creating something from scratch—completely subjective. Do you like it? Why? How does it make you feel?

And what is the most frustrating part?

Honestly, I’m not frustrated. I’m grateful to be a musician.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Something I need to be better at—build your own community. Start small, let it grow naturally around you. The world is huge now, but success doesn’t have to mean everything, everywhere, all at once. Find what feels good in the moment and move with the best intentions.
