Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Samia continues building anticipation for her upcoming third album 'Bloodless'—out 25th April via Grand Jury—with the release of two striking new singles: 'Hole in a Frame' and 'Pants'. Both arrive today alongside visualisers by Sarah Ritter, with the 'Pants' video featuring a stirring performance from actor Fred Hechinger (White Lotus, Nickel Boys, Gladiator II).
The two tracks showcase Samia’s ability to explore emotional duality. “‘Hole in a Frame’ is about a fascination with disappearing and the power of absence,” she shares, citing Sid Vicious punching a hole in a wall at Cain’s Ballroom in 1978 as inspiration. “‘Pants’ is about accepting a non-refundable self, social contexts and all. They move from a comfort in the possibilities of emptiness to the reality of existence.”
'Bloodless' follows the success of 2023’s acclaimed 'Honey', and sees Samia digging deeper into her identity and artistry. Produced by longtime collaborators Caleb Wright and Jake Luppen, and featuring contributions from Christian Lee Hutson and Raffaella, the album is shaping up to be her most textured and vulnerable yet.
