Platonick Dive - 'Take A Deep Breath'

8/10

Throughout their sprawling tenure to date, Italian outfit Platonick Dive have established themselves as one of the more progressive additions to the international post-rock scene. Brimming with this warm and immersive aesthetic across a host of dazzling releases over the years, the band suddenly vanished from the new music scene after the release of their 2018 LP 'Social Habits'. But after a wave of highly-praised efforts throughout this year so far, they are back once again with their long-awaited fourth studio album 'Take A Deep Breath', a record that sees them returning brighter and more enchanting than ever.

While it has been quite some time since their previous full-length, the power and finesse throughout 'Take A Deep Breath' shows they are still very much on top of their creative game right now. Oozing with this broad and emotive atmosphere across all of its twelve tracks, their newest collection finds them in brilliantly riveting spirits once again. Offering up one truly enigmatic stunner after another, Platonick Dive have not only broken their long hiatus, but smashed through it to deliver some of their most vibrant material to date.

Plenty has already been said about their dynamic endeavours over the years, but 'Take A Deep Breath' shows there are still plenty of fresh and exciting ideas for them to pursue. Brimming with such a passionate aura from start to finish, the trio are back to their captivating best here.
