Viva Sounds announces first live acts and guests for their 2019 event

Viva Sounds is making its third edition and the goal is once again to create a relevant music club festival and conference. One that features new and exciting artists as well as an international conference focused on what’s going on in the music industry.

The club festival takes place over two night at seven clubs from the 6th-7th December, all in the same neighbourhood in Gothenburg, Sweden, and the number of stages has increased this year.

"We have no ambition in growing, but given the broad partnership in which the event is done, we’re happy to add more stages on, and still up the quality", says Mattias Tell at Westside Music Sweden.

The following live acts have all been announced for this year's Viva Sounds:

Red Rum Club (UK) - possibly the hottest band from the UK right now? The band sold out all the dates on their spring tour and spent the summer on stage at the Isle of Wight, Tramlines and Glastonbury. Viva Sounds will be the first time their Tarantino vibing indie happens in Sweden.

Linn Koch-Emmery (SE) - Seymour Stein's favorite and Sweden's new indie star has released acclaimed lo-fi indie and in a short time played in Germany, US, UK and Mexico. This summer she played both Roskilde and Way Out West and new music is coming this fall.

Pom Poko (NO) - Released their debut album on Bella Union earlier this year, and the response was great. The band has played all major Norwegian festivals this summer, and has a big tour in the UK planned for October - Viva Sounds will be their first visit to Gothenburg.

Fontän (SE) - Fontän from Gothenburg fountain has been around for decade and kept the interest via two acclaimed albums. Somewhere between psychedelia and club music, the combination of post-rock, dub, disco and krautrock has resulted in an audience all over the world. Bardo!

DIVES (AT) - Austrian trio whom with a surf-inspired sound has taken big steps in a short time. The trio has toured in Europe for the past two years and also played at the Reeperbahn Festival, but never before in Sweden.

The conference takes place at Pustervik daytime Saturday and will address contemporary and current issues within today's music landscape. Like previous years, the guests are hand picked from the global music industry and then mixed up with those active in Gothenburg and the rest of Sweden. In the end we’ll serve eight hours of inspiration, meetings, interviews, panels and networking.

Viva Sounds are welcoming these first guests to the conference:

- David Mortimer-Hawkins, A&R, Sony Music (SE)
- Beke Trojan, Booking Agent / Promoter, Neuland Concerts (DE)
- Dom Gourlay, Journalist, Under the Radar, Gigwise, FNM, (UK)
- My Bergman - Booking Agent, Blixten & Co (SE)
