The Flashpot Moments - 'Assemble'

7/10

Over this past decade, US outfit The Flashpot Moments have been keen to establish themselves as one a more enigmatic endeavour than most. Turning out a flurry of new and interesting releases as often as possible, their tenure to date has been filled with broad and emotive anthems, all leading into this euphoric direction they have harnessed for themselves. And after just a few months since their recent studio album 'Bombastic Fantastic' in April, they are back once again with their latest EP 'Assemble', a collection that builds upon their tenacious ambitions to date.

Much like what they have earned a solid reputation for recently, 'Assemble' looks to evoke those bolder and more impactful aspects within their driven sound to date. Opening up with lead single 'Emerge', the band find themselves in one of their more heartfelt guises to date. Creating this rich and alluring texture, reminiscent of The Gaslight Anthem and Tom Petty as it plays, the band are continuing to broaden their emotive horizon, turning out one of their most passionate releases to date here.

Times have certainly been extremely busy for them these last few years, but 'Assemble' shows they are still very much on top of their creative game right now. Brimming with this fresh and explorative approach to their songwriting, The Flashpot Moments are definitely ones to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
