Alessia Cara - 'Know It All'

8/10

The astronomic rise of 19-year-old singer Alessia Cara has been impressive to say the least. After officially releasing her debut single 'Here' back in May of this year, the singer managed to sign to Def Jam Records and quickly followed it up with debut EP 'Four Pink Walls' in August. Now its November and we have the singer's debut album all ready to go, but given the pace of her rise, has the young vocalist managed to deliver the goods on a full-length so early in her career?

The answer, surprisingly, is yes as 'Know It All' seems to be that perfect blend of fresh, exciting talent and major label influence that creates truly memorable pop records. While 'Here' still remains the stand out contribution on this release, the rest still holds a positive direction for this album and ends up creating a full-length with a rich bed of ebbs and flows that keep the pace and rhythm always exciting and enjoyable.

While Alessia's career has taken off more in the US than the UK, it surely won't be long before her instantly recognisable vocals take our island nation by storm as well. A quality and mature release from someone only at the beginning of what should become an incredible career.
