While his band Late Of The Pier have been on an indefinite hiatus since 2010, frontman Sam Dust has proven to be a reclusive songwriter up until now with the reemergence of his new solo project LA Priest.
Having previously used the moniker on a 12" release back in 2007, LA Priest is now looking to become the next full time commitment from the songwriter after a deal with Domino Records was confirmed, along with the release of his latest single 'Onio'.
While his latest material seems to show glimmers of his previous self, 'Onio' has a far more experimental and electronic angle than his work in Late Of The Pier and shows that Dust has been looking for an avenue to push his sound to the most creative corners of his expertise.
With no EP or album details in the last few months, we are not sure how far he plans to push this new direction, but even if this is all we get, it has certainly been worth the wait.
