Baby Said - 'Who Gives A Rock'

8/10

Ever since their brilliant debut single 'Fight' near the end of last year, Portsmouth-based Italian/Punjabi sisters Veronica and Jess Pal have seen their Baby Said project grow at an exceptional rate. Despite only a handful of singles to their name so far, the pair have quickly established themselves as one of the more exciting alternative names on the rise right now. And with the praise just continuing to build, they are now ready to bring all of their releases under one roof with their stunning debut EP 'Who Gives A Rock', a collection beaming with stellar hooks and an ambitious energy.

While their sound and direction isn't anything too distinctive from many other rock acts on the scene, what Baby Said do, they do very well. Focusing themselves on the engaging nature of their songwriting and production, this four-track release looks to add a much needed dose of vigour to the commercial arena. With tracks like 'Mouth Shut' and 'Panic Attack' showcasing their more anthemic ideals, the duo have made light work of this new offering as they turn out one festival-ready belter after another.

Things are still very much in their infancy for them right now, but 'Who Gives A Rock' shows incredible promise for their career ahead. Refined and exciting as often as possible, Baby Said are surely a name destined for the big time!
