Baydream - 'Punk House'

8/10

Over this past year, emerging artist and producer Baydream has established himself as one of the more prolific and multifaceted names doing the rounds right now. Turning out a flurry of single and EP releases across the last twelve months, all adding something new and interesting to his ever-evolving sound, the artist has been quick to cement his place as a true innovator on the rise. And with the buzz around him continuing to build, he returns with his dreamy new EP 'Punk House', a collection that embraces a deeper and more varied direction as often as possible.

While diversity and an adventurous spirit has always been a part of his make up, 'Punk House' sees him push that dynamic intention as far as it will go. Taking cues from the sounds of indie-rock, pop, alternative hip-hop, soul, electronica, post-punk and so much more, this eight track offering stands as one of his more endearing releases to date. Melding each of the tracks together to create this brilliantly succinct and cohesive listen, Baydream seems to cultivate a fresh and exciting pursuit with everything he touches right now.

It may have been an extremely busy time for him recently, but 'Punk House' shows he is still very much on top of his creative game at the moment. Brimming with this inventive pursuit that flows across a tender approach to songwriting at every turn, it feels like he is only just beginning to show what he is truly made of here.
