Carolina Drama - 'Warm Regards'

8/10

Ever since they first broke through with their stunning debut single '$19.99' near the end of last year, Nashville-based duo Carolina Drama have quickly established themselves as one of the more enigmatic names on the rise. With a sound that blurs the lines between soul, blues and indie-rock, they have spent the months since building their repertoire into one of the more progressive we have seen so far this year. And now the pair look to cement their work to date with the release of their vibrant debut EP 'Warm Regards', a release that hones their innovative nature of late.

While much of these outings have been previously released as singles, hearing 'Warm Regards' all under one roof really heightens the adventurous spirit they have brought to the fold lately. Creating this incredibly absorbing sound that offers up both driven guitar riffs and an explosive drive throughout, this new four-track collection takes their recent endeavours and repackages them into something brimming with flair and tenacity at every turn.

They are still very much in the infancy of their career right now, but with anthems this impactful, Carolina Drama are definitely a name worth keeping a close eye for the future. Brimming with this unbridled energy from start to finish, 'Warm Regards' sits as one of our favourite debut offerings of the year so far.
