DYLAN - 'The Greatest Thing I'll Never Learn'

8/10

Throughout 2022, pop newcomer DYLAN has been on an exceptional rise, and for very good reason. While many in her field have largely focused on the warm and tender side of the scene, she has captured this unabated and carefree approach to her sound, leading to countless fun and upbeat offerings that really stand out amongst her contemporaries. So after a string of bright and euphoric gems under her belt already, she is now looking to cement her sound to date with the release of her debut mixtape 'The Greatest Thing I'll Never Learn', a record that establishes her as the future sound of British pop.

While her tenure so far has been littered with bold and adventurous efforts, on 'The Greatest Thing I'll Never Learn', it is clear that she has developed a strong and confident grasp over her direction so far. Leaning even harder on the bigger and more anthemic side to her sound, this eight-track collection looks to create a rich and soaring energy that sees her churn out one vibrant effort after another. Brimming with fresh and creative ideals that perfectly fit her off-kilter textures, she has this incredibly infectious progression that sees her shine as often as possible.

It may still be very early days for the 23-year-old at the helm, but 'The Greatest Thing I'll never learn' makes for a incredibly powerful intent. She clearly has a focused vision for herself and her newest material is a bold step forward within her musical evolution so far.
