What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I fell in love with the piano first. I came up in the church so that was one of the first instruments I was introduced to. Also, my favourite song ever used to be 'Ordinary People' by John Legend and I always thought he was cooler than cooler when he was playing the piano and singing.

What has been the most prominent inspiration behind your music so far?

Getting my single played on the #1 radio station in my hometown was a milestone and something I will never forget. I believe if you can make it in Cleveland you can make it anywhere. That thought alone keeps me going and motivated to keep making music to hopefully be a top-selling artist one day soon.

What kind of music did you love as a teenager?

The whole Odd Future movement was very inspiring while I was in high school. Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator were my favourite artists at the time.

Can you remember the first song that made you want to pursue a life in music?

When Bryson Tiller dropped his platinum album "Trapsoul," literally every song inspired me to start making music. From the intro all the way through. I caught on to "Don't' before the album dropped, and it really resonated with me, then the album came out and it felt like he was speaking to me the whole project. I knew then that I wanted to make music for a living.

When you wake up in the morning, what kind of music do you like to listen to?

It really depends on what type of vibe I'm on for the day. It'll go from Da Baby to Juice Wrld to Alina Baraz to Lil Durk on some days. It all depends.

How many of your songs have you written about people in your life?

I've released a total of 10 songs that I've written about people in my life. The songs I write about the people in my life are some of my favourite work.

What has been the most memorable moment in your career so far?

Opening up for Tink has to be the most memorable moment. I performed with a live band and performed my single "Distractions" in a room full of people and everyone went crazy. I had the best set that night and I left with a lot of new fans.

Outside of music, what is your biggest passion?

Helping others. I love doing random acts of kindness and making someone's day. I enjoy giving to the homeless. Mentoring kids and giving back to my community.

If you weren’t a musician, what other path do you think you might have taken?

I'd love to be an athlete. Either competing in the Olympics or playing in the NBA or MLL (Major Lacrosse League).

And what advice would you give to other musicians looking to start a career in music?

Be consistent, be original, study and practise your craft and never lose sight of your purpose in making music.
