Having already established himself with a wealth of riveting releases these last few years, emerging artist John Korbel returns once again to deliver his shimmering new delight 'New York All To Ourselves'.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
My first music lessons were on clarinet. It was a good way to learn to read music, but it fell out of favour when I discovered the guitar.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
The Beatles of course! James and Livingston Taylor. California rock like Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Eagles, Jackson Brown.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Johnny Rivers Live at the Whiskey A Go Go.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Penny Lane
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I keep a notebook with lyric ideas, and interesting song title ideas.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Kurt Elling, Laufey, Samara Joy.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Sting
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Connection with an audience.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Finding and keeping musicians together in a band. When it all finally comes together, it’s wonderful. But it is difficult to sustain.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Be true to your muse. Don’t try to be something that you’re not.
