Joining his fellow bandmates Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood in pursuit of a career outside Radiohead, the band's guitarist Ed O'Brien has now announced his plans for a new solo album.
In an interview with BBC 6Music, O'Brien explained that the record had been inspired by some time he took away from the band in Brazil, saying "it was the greatest thing I’ve ever, ever, ever experienced in terms of music.”
The album is said to be a mix of carnival and samba music, but don't think he has left the gloominess behind as he goes on to say that, "There’s an element of that joy of music, but - like a lot of Brazilian music - there’s a dark heart."
The record is due to be released after Radiohead finish their tour for 'A Moon Shaped Pool', but you can listen to the interview again here.
