Run The Jewels - 'Run The Jewels 2'

9/10

Since US rap duo Run The Jewels released their self-titled debut album in the middle of last year, the stateside hip-hop scene has become a huge juggernaut on the international market. Dozens of new and interesting artists have begun to emerge in this genre, making now the perfect time for these two to unleash their insanely catchy and high-octane sound to the masses.

Moving to Mass Appeal Records for this new full-length, 'Run The Jewels 2' is that perfect balance between down-and-dirty hip-hop and party-rap that keeps your fist pumping and your head nodding. While always keeping one foot firmly placed in political commentary, the pair have used their attractive sound to express their own feeling and ideals about numerous corners of modern life, giving them this very down to earth feel that keeps you interested with its insanely good production.

While they have yet to make any real impact on UK shores yet, this album has so much underground credential, its almost shameful. An incredible follow-up from an incredible pair that don't look to be slowing down in any way.
