If there's one thing that you can expect to turn heads later this year, it is the London-based trio Strong Asian Mothers. Both for their distinctive name, but even more for their incredible collection of tracks to date.
The band have this hard to define sound, that sits somewhere between the electro hip-hop stylings of Ratatat and the glossy alt-pop production of MGMT. A curious hybrid that has landed them an influential spot on the BBC Introducing stage at this year's Reading & Leeds Festivals later this month.
Despite only a few songs under their belt so far, they have managed to create a distinctive place on the scene, and with the industry tastemakers already beginning to look towards them, it should only be a matter of time before we hear a lot of what they have to offer.
