When they first broke through with their highly-praised debut LP 'Geography A' in 2021, Swedish duo Marble Raft established themselves as one of the more passionate names emerging on the indie-pop circuit. Since then the pair have been making some serious waves with their comeback material, adopting this broad and immersive aesthetic in which to take their direction throughout this new era. And with their reputation for bright and shimmering textures growing faster by the day, they are back to deliver their eagerly-awaited sophomore album 'Dear Infrastructure', a record that widens those wondrous tones at every turn.
Right from the very start, 'Dear Infrastructure' looks to lure you in with its kaleidoscopic rhythms and glittering grooves, creating this wonderfully warming feel as it plays. Keeping very much in the same vein their initial full-length explored, this ten-track collection sees them push the boundaries of their sound as far as they will go, making for this beautifully rich and inviting flow throughout. Whether it is the euphoric prose of 'Here In Your Backyard' or the soaring embrace of 'To Have To Hold And To Break', Marble Raft always manage to find something fresh and enjoyable in which to pursue.
These last few months have certainly been an impactful time for them, but hearing their recent work all under one roof really elevates their dynamic intent of late. Moving with this subtle elegance from beginning to end, Marble Raft return to the fold with some of their most mesmerising offerings to date here.
