BENEE returns with new single 'Sad Boiii'

After making a serious mark with a string of impactful efforts throughout last year, BENEE is now back for 2024 to deliver a brand new single.

The new track 'Sad Boiii' marks her first piece of new material so far this year, and comes accompanied by a stunning new video, directed by Nikki Milan Houston.

Speaking about the new offering, she said, “I wanted to write a feel-good tune with a darker undertone. Growing up, I went to local festivals and I tried to capture that outdoor vibe. There’s a lot of reggae energy in New Zealand music, which takes me back. Lyrically, it’s about the frustration of dating someone with a tough façade who turns out to be just another damaged boy. He’s pretending, but deep down, he’s broken. I’ve been in too many relationships like that, and it’s exhausting. They don’t want therapy, they just want to lean on you. Don’t fall for the bad boy act!”
