Doves continue their return with the release of 'A Drop in the Ocean', a philosophical, bass-driven track that drifts through ethereal soundscapes and introspective lyricism. Led by Jimi Goodwin’s yearning vocal, the song marks the fourth preview of their upcoming album 'Constellations for the Lonely', out this Friday 28th February via EMI North.
Following the sweeping strings-and-beats grandeur of 'Cold Dreaming', released at the start of the year, and the propulsive urgency of 'Saint Teresa', Doves now offer a moment of reflection with 'A Drop in the Ocean'. The single pairs atmospheric production with poignant storytelling, exploring themes of perspective, insignificance, and resilience.
“It’s a song about us being insignificant, which can be helpful to remember when you’re going through a tough time,” explains Andy Williams.
